I bought a used car a couple of months ago, and it was the worst purchase I ever made. It has given me nothing but headaches from day one. To be honest with you I feel like pushing this piece of trash over the side of a cliff. However, because I don’t have enough money to get a different car, I am stuck with it. I did not make one mistake when buying this vehicle; I made multiple mistakes. Here are just some of the ways that I messed up:

  • I don’t know why I thought I was the right person to view the car and check it out, considering that I know nothing at all about cars. I am sure that a more experienced driver would never have gone near it with a bargepole. My mechanic has countless times told me that he is shocked that I actually handed money out for this car.

  • My next mistake was that I failed to investigate what the average selling price was for this type of car. So not only did I buy a complete banger, I also paid more than I should have for it; I really was scammed good. I have to share some of the blame though because I turned up at his door with no idea about what constituted a fair price. I basically invited him to overcharge me.

  • My other mistake was to not take the car for a test drive. I was embarrassed about my driving skills because I am a new driver. So now I am paying the price. Had I taken the car for a test drive, even I would have noticed the problems.

If you happen to be in search of used cars, it is always best to conduct a correct investigation ahead of time. Investigating means that you can discover the finest used cars for the type you’re looking for. When your research is complete, you can very well end up with a great used car.
